Concierge Rheumatologist
Dr. Ishita Aggarwal is a proud alum of the University of California Berkeley, and New York University School of Medicine. She moved back to the bay to complete her Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. After her residency, she spent some time as a hospitalist and a researcher at UCSF Medical Center where she conducted several projects related to quality of care measures to treat systemic lupus erythematosus. She presented her research at the American College of Rheumatology annual meeting, the Rheumatology Research Foundation and the Rheumatism Society of Washington D.C. and has several peer-reviewed publications in academic journals including Arthritis Care and Research.
She then completed her Rheumatology fellowship training at George Washington University, in Washington D.C. during which she also developed expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound. She is certified by the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR). She has been a guest lecturer at medical grand rounds at hospitals and mentors other young physicians in the clinic.
Dr. Aggarwal is devoted to delivering excellent clinical care for patients while understanding their unique needs. Dr. Aggarwal resides in San Francisco with her husband and daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, exploring local parks and hikes and painting.
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Expertise
Dr. Aggarwal has advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, a specialized imaging technique that allows real-time evaluation of joints, tendons, and soft tissues. This expertise supports earlier and more accurate diagnosis of inflammatory and degenerative conditions, improved monitoring of disease activity, and more precise, ultrasound-guided joint and soft-tissue injections.
For patients, this means clearer answers, fewer delays in care, and highly targeted treatment decisions tailored to their individual condition.
Kind words about Ishita Aggarwal, MD:
With an urgent need for a Rheumatologist, I did some research and asked my Doctor to refer me to Pacific Rheumatology Associates (PRA) before realizing or understanding what a “Concierge” Doctor was. After contacting them they responded immediately with information on how they worked – but I decided to try the conventional UCSF option first. It didn’t take long for me to come to the realization that the PRA service was what I needed – after UCSF scheduled my “urgent” appointment for March 2026!
Upon signing up with PRA I was sitting in Dr Aggarwal’s office the following morning (November 2025) – and couldn’t be happier! I received the urgent care I needed, have had immediate follow-up by her support staff and two subsequent zoom consultations since.
I absolutely recommend Dr Aggarwal and her team to look after all your Rheumatology needs!
Dr Aggarwal responds quickly to my RA concerns when I text her.
She is a patient doctor who listens to my concerns when I have my appointments with her. I appreciate her genuine and professional attitude in dealing with my issues.
